Haustorium 90 Now Online

Haustorium reaches its 90th issue! Many thanks to Chris Parker for his dedication to the newsletter, and to Lytton Musselman and all contributors.

This issue takes a closer look at the sunflower broomrape (Orobanche cumana) outbreak near Yakima, USA. Following its discovery in 2025, authorities introduced strict quarantine measures and carried out intensive treatment of the infested site. Continued surveys have found no further infestations, raising hopes that these efforts may have contained its spread.

Also inside are reports on broomrape in Brazilian tomato fields, Striga-resistant cowpea in Nigeria and satellite detection of dodder, along with a call to contribute to a survey on parasitic weeds of trees in Africa. IPPS news and an extensive review of recent literature are, of course, also included.

Enjoy this milestone issue!
