The IPPS wishes you a happy and successful 2026!

Dear IPPS members,

I hope you are all doing well. As the president of the International Parasitic Plant Society, and on behalf of the whole Executive Committee, I want to share my very best New Year wishes to all of you, through this means. I hope the year 2026 will be another year of exciting parasitic plant research, bringing us many more new insights in the genomics, biochemistry, botany, biology, ecology, host interactions and management of this fascinating group of plants.

Without doubt the most important parasitic plants event of this year will be the 18th World Congress on Parasitic Plants (WCPP), to be held in São Sebastião, Brazil, from 31 May to 5 June, 2026. Please mark this date in your agenda, and don’t forget to register and submit your abstract. It will be another occasion for all of us to meet again and I am very much looking forward to that.

I would also like to encourage all of you to continue sharing your parasitic plant news, like latest findings, publications or events, on our website. Until the next WCPP we will pause our monthly online seminar series, but we hope to resume this again soon after the conference.

Once again, on behalf of the whole EC, I wish you a successful and happy 2026!

Jonne Rodenburg
